Victoria’s Wine Growth Fund brings economic cheer to wine industry

Applications are now open for Victoria’s Wine Growth Fund, which provides grants to the wine industry.

Are you a Victorian business directly involved in the wine industry? Whether you’re growing grapes, making or marketing wine, you could be eligible for grants as part of Victoria’s Wine Growth Fund.

The fund was created to sustainably grow the wine industry in Victoria by funding innovative growers, organisations and projects that build domestic and international markets.

Here’s what’s available:
  • Grants up to a maximum of $20,000 for individual organisations
  • Grants up to $50,000 per project for collaborative marketing and export projects involving more than one organisation
  • Grants up to $100,000 for infrastructure projects that attract significant private investment and create new jobs.
Applicants are expected to make a financial contribution and/or source third-party funding. Grants are provided on a $1 for $1 basis. Matching funds may be from a variety of sources including from a group of wineries or growers, associations, regional organisations or the Commonwealth Government. In-kind contributions are not accepted as part of the funding contribution.

The first two rounds of the fund have passed, supporting 106 projects worth nearly $2 million.

Round Three opened 30 July 2018 and applications close 5 October 2018. Project start date is from 1 February 2019.

The wine industry is a key component of Victoria’s economy. It contributes more than $7.6 billion and employs more than 13,000 people in grape growing, wine making, cellar door sales and hospitality operations.
