Melbourne is also a centre of excellence for specialists providing monitoring, reporting and verifying services, particularly for the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme.
Climate Change Authority
Melbourne is home to the Climate Change Authority, an independent body providing advice on national renewable energy target emissions trajectories, the Commonwealth Government's carbon pricing mechanism and the Carbon Farming Initiative.
Carbon Market Institute
Based in Melbourne – and established with support from the Victorian Government – the Carbon Market Institute was formed to help Australian businesses meet the challenges and opportunities associated with developing national and international carbon markets.
