TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Your participation in this Competition constitutes your deemed acceptance of the following Terms and Conditions.
  2. The Promoter (the ‘Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions) and the Sponsor (the ‘Department of Health and Human Services’) reserve the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Failure by the Promoter or Sponsor to enforce any rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  3. In order to enter this Competition, you must:
    1. be operating a fixed-premises food business in Victoria; and 
    2. complete all questions in the Food Safety Reforms Program survey either online (through the link provided on Small Business Victoria’s website and social media channels) or in person at the Food Service 2019 Exhibition Melbourne; and   
    3. provide your name and email address. 
  4. Entry into the Competition is limited to one entry per food business.  
  5. Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.
  6. The Competition commences on Sunday 23 June 2019. The closing date for receipt of valid entries is midnight AEST on Friday 12 July 2019.
  7. The winner will be determined by draw and will receive an Apple iPad (valued at approximately $459) and Square contact less credit card reader (valued at approximately $59 RRP).  
  8. The prize draw will take place at the Promotor's office at Level 35, 121 Exhibition St, Melbourne on Monday 15 July 2019 at 4pm AEST.
  9. The prize winner will be notified via email by Monday 22 July 2019. The Promoter’s decision is final and conclusive.
  10. A further draw for a prize, if unclaimed, may take place on Wednesday 30 July 2019 at the same time and place as the Competition draw, but this is subject to change. If this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated, due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition, as appropriate.
  11. The name of the winner may be published, and the winner shall participate in publicity activities regarding the Competition if requested by the Promoter.  
  12. The Promoter may, at its discretion, disqualify an entrant whether before or after a draw, if the entrant is from the same business, household or Immediate Family of another winner.
  13. The prize will be deemed unclaimed if it is not collected as and when directed by the Promoter.
  14. The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an entrant to automatically enter the Competition repeatedly is prohibited and will render all entries submitted by that entrant invalid.
  15. The Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) and Sponsor (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition including:
    1. any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s or Sponsor’s control);
    2. any theft, unauthorised access or third-party interference;
    3. any entry, prize or claim for a prize that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether before or after receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter;
    4. any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions;
    5. any tax liability (including FBT) incurred by a winner or entrant; and
    6. use of the prize.
  16. The Promoter’s Privacy Policy (available online at: www.business.vic.gov.au/privacy) applies. 
  17. If you provide your contact details, The Promoter and/or Sponsor may contact you at a later date for further feedback and/or participation in Food Safety Reform activities. 
  18. All Competition entries submitted become the property of the Sponsor.
  19. The Promoter is the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, located at 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000. ABN: 83 295 185 244. 
  20. The Sponsor is the Food Safety Unit, Department of Health and Human Services, located at 50 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000. ABN: 74 410 330 756.
  21. Employees and Immediate Family* of the Promoter or the Sponsor associated with this promotion are not eligible to win any prizes.
*Immediate Family means any of the following: spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, brother, sister, step-brother or step-sister.
