To get JobSeeker Payment you need to meet some rules. These include:
- you’re between 22 and Age Pension age
- your income is under the test limits
- you meet residence rules.
As part of the Australian Government's Payments to support households, if you already receive ABSTUDY, Ausstudy, Newstart Allowance/JobKeeper Payment or Youth Allowance, you will automatically receive the Coronavirus Supplement as an additional fortnightly payment of $550.
Payments to support households
The Australian Government is providing two separate $750 payments to social security, veteran and other income support recipients and eligible concession card holders. These payments will support households to manage the economic impact of the Coronavirus.
- The first payment (announced on 12 March 2020) will be available to people who are eligible
payment recipients and concession card holders at any time from 12 March 2020 to 13 April 2020
- The second payment (announced on 22 March 2020) will be available to people who are eligible
payment recipients and concession card holders on 10 July 2020.
Early access to superannuation
If you are eligible to receive a JobSeeker payment, Youth Allowance for jobseekers, parenting payment (which includes the single and partnered payments), special benefit or farm household allowance you may be able to apply for early access to $10,000 of your superannuation before 30 June 2020, and a further $10,000 between 1 July and 24 September 2020.
