2017 Governor of Victoria Export Awards

The Governor of Victoria Export Awards (GOVEA) is the most prestigious export award in Victoria. Rewarding the state's most successful and innovative exporters with the stamp of international success, a GOVEA gives your business recognition in local and international markets.

Now in its 38th year, GOVEA 2017 will be awarded across 12 categories, and three  Victoria only awards . Winners of the 12 categories will be automatically placed as finalists in the Australian Export Awards – a national awards ceremony which will see the Victorian winners compete against other state and territory winners for the national Awards.

Free workshops

To assist you with your application, Trade Victoria and the Export Council of Australia are conducting free workshops to:
•    show you how to prepare an award-winning submission for the Governor of Victoria Export Awards
•    assist you to use the awards application to review and update your export plan
•    provide an opportunity to network with fellow exporters.

2017 Categories

Creative Industries
For outstanding international success across all creative industries including music and performing arts, film, television and radio, software and interactive content, writing, publishing and print media, architecture and design, and visual arts.

Digital Technologies
For outstanding international success in the field of information and communications products, technology or services that are concerned with the storage, retrieval, manipulation, transmission or receipt of digital data including software and games.

E-commerce
For outstanding success by an Australian business in selling goods or services to customers overseas via an electronic network.

Education and Training
For outstanding innovation and international success in the field of education and training services, expertise and curriculum, including vocational training.

Environmental Solutions
For outstanding international success in environmental solutions, clean energy innovation, materials and energy efficiency, waste and water management, green buildings and R&D collaboration.

Health and Biotechnology
For outstanding international success in the medical, healthcare and biotechnology fields for products, technology, equipment or services.

Manufacturing
For outstanding international success by a manufacturer.

Minerals, Energy and Related Services
For outstanding international success in the production or primary processing of extractive and value-added minerals or energy products, and from mining equipment, technology, and services (METS) to the minerals and energy industries.

Regional Exporter
For outstanding international success from a business whose head office is based in a non-metropolitan location.  

Small Business
For outstanding international success by any small business whose total annual sales doesn't exceed A$5 million.

2017 Victoria only Award categories

Victorian Exporter of the Year
The Victorian Exporter of the Year Award is selected by the state judges from the winners of the 12 national categories.

Victorian Export Award for Innovation Excellence
Recognises the overall most innovative exporter from all entrants of the 2017 GOVEA Awards. The Award considers innovation in all aspects of the company's export operations.

Victorian Women in International Business Award  
For outstanding success by a Victorian woman involved in international business.
