All Victorian Government Business Offices and Regional Development Victoria offices are staffed with Business Development Managers who are specialists in business and industry. They will support your business and help you navigate government services, programs and regulations. BDMs also have local knowledge of the operating environment that you are in, offering advice and guidance on resources that you can tap on to start, run or develop your business.

All businesses based in Victoria can seek help from their local VGBO for advice, guidance and assistance. Business that have received help from VGBOs include R & D and manufacturing businesses, secure card production companies, food manufacturing plants and engineering companies.

How can the Business Development Manager help my business?

Business Development Managers (BDMs) can assist with the following:
  • helping you in investing and business development, such as navigating planning issues & dealing with local councils,
  • guiding you in exporting for the first time. Your BDM can provide step-by-step guidance to get your business export-ready and in-market information on your target export markets
  • increasing the skills of your workforce through the Victorian Skills Gateway
  • connecting you with infrastructure to help you better connect with facilities to run your business
  • guiding you in exploring Government grants and assistance that are relevant
  • guiding you in exploring Government grants and assistance that are relevant such as Grow Your Business or the Innovation Voucher Program
