Minister for Training and Skills, Steve Herbert, will lead the mission of 49 companies and 81 delegates to the important CommunicAsia expo in Singapore after heading to medical technology and ICT events in Malaysia.

The companies will have the opportunity to showcase Victoria’s ICT capabilities at CommunicAsia – the most influential ICT forum in South East Asia – where the latest innovative technologies from Big Data, Business Analytics, Cloud Technologies, IoT, to Zigbee will be unveiled.

For the past six years Victoria has sent delegations to the conference – which sets the agenda for the ICT sector, establishes partnerships among key ICT players and is a critical source for the latest industry-specific innovations.

The visit to Malaysia was also added to the mission to further strengthen relationships between Victorian and Malaysian ICT companies, with Malaysia now Victoria’s fifth largest two-way trading partner.

Victoria is the centre of Australia’s ICT industry, which generates 34 billion in annual revenue and employs more than 91,300 people in almost 8,200 companies.

Our TAFEs and learning institutions underpin the industry’s global reputation in delivering innovative products and services, and will provide the skills that it needs to grow more than ever before.
