Victoria Week Trade Mission to India
The Victorian Government is exploring new business opportunities in a Victoria Week trade mission to India from 20 to 24 April 2015. Applications to participate in the trade mission have now closed.
India is the world's second most populous nation, with an estimated population of more than 1.2 billion, and GDP exceeding US$1.8 trillion in 2013. The economy has become one of the world's best performers, with International Monetary Fund forecasts for growth of 5.4 per cent in 2014 and 6.4 per cent in 2015. India is the world's third largest economy in terms of purchasing power parity (PPP), with a GDP of US$6.77 trillion based on PPP.
About the Trade Mission
India has the second fastest growing services sector in the world, offering significant opportunities for Victorian organisations.
The Victoria Week trade mission will continue to build the profile of Victorian expertise in service industries and showcase the key sectors of health and aged care, ICT, sport and sustainability (including water and cleantech).
During the mission week a major trade show – The Global Exhibition on Services (GES) – will be held from 23-24 April 2015 in New Delhi. The GES has a focus on all sectors involved in the Victoria Week trade mission and will allow companies to expand their knowledge of services industries in India and meet with potential business partners. Prime Minister Modi, who has a proactive stance on economic development, will open the trade show.
Trade Mission Assistance Program (TMAP)Companies participating in the trade mission may also be eligible for a Victorian Government subsidy of up to $2,000 towards airfares and accommodation. Read the TMAP terms and conditions.
