Why being inclusive makes great business sense

Details

Join us to hear from local Geelong businesses who have become more 'disability confident' and share their firsthand experience of the benefits of recruiting people with diverse skillsets to not only fill existing vacancies but create new unseen opportunities. People with a disability spend $8 billion a year on Australian tourism, accounting for 11% of total tourism expenditure. That's a lot of $$$. When you take into account 1.1 million Victorians, or 18% of our total population, have a disability, becoming more welcoming as a business and employer represents a substantial opportunity to all businesses in the growing visitor economy. Learn about the resources and tools available to support employers considering this largely untapped pool of talent and the potential impact on your bottom line when you factor accessibility into your customer service approach. This event will be hosted by the Australian Federation of Disability Organisations, with the support of the Victorian Government through 'Every opportunity: Victorian economic participation plan for people with disability 2018-2020'.
