HR advice on corporate fitness for duty

Summary

Learn all about Corporate Fitness for Duties (CFFD) assessments from all angles. You may require medical screening as a condition of pre-employment. Perhaps you have staff not meeting performance expectations, or an employee undergoing treatment for an illness that is not work-related, such as cancer or an old football injury. You may need to assess an employee who has taken extended sick leave or have a duty of care to manage risk to the worker, their colleagues or the public. This session includes including practical advice, the dos and don'ts and an overview of the different HR scenarios that might need an independent clinical opinion.

Details

A Corporate Fitness for Duties (CFFD) assessment can assist an employer to: - Confirm the existence of a medical condition and if it is impacting on the employee?s ongoing ability to safely perform the duties of their role - Determine whether it is medically safe for an employee to return to work following illness - Understand the impact of a medical condition and / or treatment on an employee's ability to perform their role - Clarify what restrictions / modifications are required to enable the employee to continue at work in a safe and productive manner. A CFFD may also be used in the context of any post-offer, pre-employment medical screening or as required after an employee's leave of absence. Using real case studies and clinical experience, provider of independent medical services mlcoa's Victorian General Manager David Rowe and Occupational Physician Dr Simone Ryan will explore CFFDs and their core elements, including scenarios where an employee does not wish to disclose their medical condition.
