Digital disruption is now part of our daily existence. It is changing how we live, how we communicate, and is fast transitioning the face of business into a screen. In Australia, disruptive digital technologies are increasingly confronting traditional business models, are becoming less predictable, and are being adopted at a very fast pace. To effectively tackle such disruption, an understanding of digital innovation is critical for the survival of modern organizations. Data and Security, the New Pillars of Strategy

The Australian Crime Commission estimates the annual cost of cyber-crime to Australia is more than $1 billion in direct costs. What's more, there's a severe global skills shortage in cyber-security workers, with 1 million job vacancies expected to be advertised this year. The exponential growth in cyber security crime, and consequently the amount of jobs available in this area has seen cyber security emerge as a key field requiring skilled specialists, with companies recognising the importance of cyber security and data, as well as how to best use it. As a university recognised as being above world standard research in the field of STEM and rated amongst the top three universities in Victoria in the latest Government Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) report, we’d like to invite you to our upcoming breakfast as part of the Digital Innovation Festival.
