Workforce Participation Programs

Victoriaworks is a range of workforce participation programs designed to help Victorians who face challenges in accessing employment. The programs fund approved organisations which connect people to employment and training. Most Victoriaworks programs contain a number of rounds of funding; interested potential partner organisations should check back regularly.

Victoriaworks for Carers Returning to Work
This program will support carers returning to the workforce. Grants help meet the costs of retraining, books and materials, course fees, transport and childcare.

Victoriaworks for Graduates with a Disability
Grants are available to organisations to assist Victorian graduates with a disability to move into professional and semi-professional positions.

Status: Current program is fully subscribed.

Victoriaworks for Indigenous Young People
Grants are available to organisations to increase the jobs and career opportunities available to young Indigenous people.

Status: New funding rounds to be advised.

Victoriaworks for Jobseekers with Employment Challenges
Funds local or regional partnerships to provide employment and other support services that enable jobseekers with significant barriers to employment to find sustainable jobs that meet employers' skills and labour needs.

Victoriaworks for Mature Age Workers
Grants are available to deliver effective and innovative strategies that result in the re-engagement of mature age workers into the workforce.

Status: New applications are currently being accepted until 30 April 2010.

Victoriaworks for Parents Returning to Work
Victoriaworks for parents returning to work program consists of two grant streams: Universal Access grants and Community Access grants. The program is funded for a total of $13.2m over 4 years from 2007-08 to 2010-1011. Universal grants are released in tranches and made directly available through the returning to earning website. Up to 1,000 community access grants are also available each year to organisations supporting parents to undertake training and employment.

Status: Community Access grants are currently fully subscribed.

Victoriaworks for Young People
Assists Victorian public sector employers to provide real job opportunities for young Victorians.

Status: Current program is fully subscribed.
