Victorian manufacturing accounts for 46 percent of Australia's scientific and analytical products, 95 percent of which is destined for export.
The Victorian Government sponsors an online Scientific and Analytical Products Capability Directory that provides free, comprehensive, up-to-date and searchable information about Victoria's scientific and analytical product companies.
All Victorian companies who manufacture scientific and analytical products or provide services to the sector are invited to register, free of charge, in the directory, which promotes the industry locally and overseas.
The Capability Directory is a joint initiative between the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development and Science Industry Australia (Victorian Chapter).
The directory was undertaken in response to the Medical and Scientific Equipment Industry Strategic Plan released by the Victorian Government in June 2002.
