Premier's Award for Health and Medical Research

The Victorian Government and the Australian Society for Medical Research (ASMR) present the Premier's Award for Health & Medical Research each year during ASMR Medical Research Week. The Award recognises achievement by Victoria's early career health and medical researchers.

The Award is open to PhD students or recently completed postgraduates whose research has or is being undertaken in a Victorian research institution in any field of health or medical research.

The Premier's Award for Health and Medical Research program provides $70,000 in prize money:

• $16,000 for the winner
• $8,000 each for three commended applicants
• $30,000 Jack & Robert Smorgon Families Award presented to a research institute associated with the work of the winner

Applications now open for the 2012 Premier's Award for Health and Medical Research.
Applications close 5pm, Wednesday 21 March 2012.
