About the Melbourne Centre for Financial Studies

The Melbourne Centre for Financial Studies was launched in august 2005.

It was the centerpiece initiative for the Financial Services Industry Action Plan which was released in May 2004.
Funding was provided by the Victorian Government for its establishment. The Centre is a joint venture between the University of Melbourne, Monash University & RMSI University and has already greatly improved collaboration between industry and academic practitioners.

The centre was designed to build on Victoria's strengths and to enhance the State's existing reputation for leading edge research in financial services. Its main activity is to conduct academic and industry research and to organise conferences, seminars and workshops, with participation by international scholars.

The Centre will continue to be active into the future across all its research – related activity categories, from conferences and stand alone initiatives such as directories, to websites and consultancies.
