Business Support Program

Project Aims

Are you a registered Indigenous business or organisation? Are you looking to develop your business stategy and kick-start the growth of your business? The Business Support Program supports Indigenous businesses by providing access to business mentors and aiding in the development of business and marketing strategies.

Nature of assistance

The Small Business Counselling Service (SBCS) mentors are highly experienced business people with skills and qualifications in a wide range of industries and disciplines, and are trained in business mentoring.

They volunteer their time to:

• help improve the profitability of their client's businesses
• improve cash flow 
• launch profitable new businesses

The Koori Business Network (KBN), through the Business Support Program,  funds an agreed number of mentoring sessions. The duration of each session is 1.5 hours. The number of sessions funded may vary depending on the applications and requirements of each applicant.

Eligibility criteria

In order to obtain support under this program, applicants will be required to confirm the following:

• their business or organisation is majority owned and/or operated by Indigenous people and that the primary beneficiaries of the business or organisation’s operations are Victorian Indigenous people
• registration of their business or organisation (e.g. ABN number, certificate of incorporation etc.)

Applications for Business Support Program funding can be submitted at any time to the Business Support Program.
