Victoria has become the leading state in growing and supporting women in small business. In June 2004, there were 126,000 female small business operators in Victoria, comprising nearly one-third (31.8%) of all small business operators.
The Women's Access to Finance Program consists of seminars and workshops designed to assist women who are running their own businesses to better understand and access finance for business expansion.
The seminars run for approximately two hours, providing women with a snapshot of all the options available in finance - both debt and equity. They will also cover useful tips on how to best approach financiers as well as presentation skills.
